Have a good looking engine and a good day.
The 2nd one looks nicer, but does not have the valve cover detailing. Sold from 1966-1969 available in the LeMans and the Firebird.
This engine is also in the LeMons Opel GT Pontiac Banshee:

one of many examples of the US auto industry trying to move forward, only to have it fail because customers wouldn’t pay for it.

Every time I see a I6 in an engine bay with lots of space I think “you could stuff a v-12 in there.”

Actually an appropriate use of the name, since it was Pontiac’s compact car at the time. This car is meh car Monday worthy, but probably so boring I wouldn’t read about it.

Built by Daewoo for Pontiac, apparently.
If that ain’t a winning combination...

Your engine seems a little slanted.

It’s a V12, but I could only make payments on half

Love an OHC 6.
In another universe where I lived in the States, my big project would absolutely be a ‘67 Firebird with a built OHC 6 and the transaxle from a Mk2 Corvair so you’ve got an OHC 6 transaxled IRS pony car :)

I have never realized it before but the thermostat housing seems to be in the valve cover. And I only see one large hose so I guess the coolant is actually routed through the cover.

I had a four door 67 Tempest with that motor and a one barrel. Powerglide transmission. The motor was surprisingly strong once we put a replacement cam in and dialed everything in. This was the mid 80e and I learned a ton about cars from the tempest. I would buy another in s minute.
